2018 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S Black Edition Revealed

Score one more for the dark side as Bentley has just unveiled the 2018 Flying Spur V8 S Black Edition. Like the 2017 Continental GT Speed Black Edition introduced last year, the Flying Spur V8 S counterpart is hardly an all-black exercise. Still, Bentley says this latest take on its luxury 4-door offers a "darker" character regardless of what basic color the buyer may select.

Exterior highlights of the new Flying Spur variant add gloss black accents to all brightwork including the grille, air intakes, window surrounds and mirror housings. These are set off with dark-tint lights, unique black-finish 21-inch "Elegant" alloy wheels and black or optional red-painted brake calipers. The two-tone cabin features a contrast color on the seats and headliner–although here, too, buyers can opt for other personal choices–as well as Piano Black veneer trim and a 3-spoke Sport Plus steering wheel.

Like other Bentley offerings, the new Flying Spur V8 S Black Edition can be ordered with a Mulliner Driving Specification upfit. This option brings diamond-quilted leather with contrast stitching in the seats and door panels and also offers a choice of different wheels and wheel finishes.

Motivation for the Black Edition comes from the more potent S version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that makes 521 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque–up from the 500/487 stats in a base Flying Spur V8. Backed by an 8-speed ZF automatic and a 60/40 rear-biased AWD system, it enables this latest Flying Spur variant to sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds on its way to a 190-mph top speed. Prices for the 2018 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S Black Edition will starts at $216,825. Order books are now open, and initial U.S. deliveries are set to begin in November.

This $1.2 million dollar flying car will transition from road to air in 3 minutes

A Slovakian vehicle company wants to solve the problem of failing infrastructure by taking to the skies. AeroMobil designs flying cars that utilize existing airplane runways, thus relieving some pressure from congested roads.

The car is available for pre-order and the company claims it will be ready for delivery in 2020. It will come in at a price tag of $1.2 million to $1.6 million and will require users to have both a driver's and a pilot's license.

The vehicle transforms from car to plane in three minutes. In testing, the car has reached a driving speed of 100 mph and a flying speed of 224 mph.

Forget Flying Cars: I Just Flew a $2 Million Personal Jet

The flying car may never take off, but the personal jet has already landed.

While companies such as Google, Intel, Toyota and Uber are working on flying cars (actually, really big drones), Cirrus Aircraft has introduced the Vision Jet, the first single-engine private jet designed to be flown by its owner.

Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideSo while all those overhyped research projects may never become a reality, the Vision Jet has already received FAA certification and is available for about $2 million. Moreover, to prove just how easy it is to fly, Cirrus let me pilot (for a very short time) one of the first six Vision Jets off the line.

Flying your own jet is several orders of magnitude better than flying first class (never mind economy). There's no surly security personnel, no gate delays, no cranky passengers and no one to tell you what you can't bring on board.

Cirrus has been building small private planes for over 30 years in the U.S. The company is perhaps best known for its unique Airframe Parachute System. Essentially, it's a parachute for the plane — the entire plane — adding an element of safety that should be intrinsic to any mode of personal flying transportation.

Cirrus expects most Vision Jet owners will pilot the aircraft themselves -- you do need to be a licensed pilot. When you pick up the aircraft in Knoxville, Tennessee, customers also take a nine-day training course on the jet and its safety systems, including the plane's parachute.

Like a Flying BMW

With its low-wing and V-tail design, the Vision Jet is sleek but on the cute rather than sexy side. It offers excellent visibility from within the cockpit, lots of convenience (yes, there are cup holders), the latest technology and, of course, comfort. Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideIn fact, the leather seats make you feel like you're ensconced in a BMW Series 7 sedan.

By the Numbers: Cirrus Vision Jet Capacity Seats up to five adults and two children Jet Engine Williams International FJ33-5A Top Speed 345 mph Range 1,200 miles Pilot license required? Yes Tech amenities Cirrus Perspective Touch by Garmin Cockpit, Sirius/XM radio, satellite phone, four powered USB ports Maximum Useable Fuel 2,000 pounds Wingspan 37 feet Weight 3,572 pounds

And flying your own jet is several orders of magnitude better than flying first class (never mind economy). There's no surly security personnel, no gate delays, no cranky fellow passengers and no one to tell you what you can or can't bring on board.

You can clip along at 4,000 feet at up to 345 mph. That's a good 75 mph quicker than even the fastest prop planes.

How Fast and How Far?

Compared with a typical prop plane (aka a piston aircraft), what the Cirrus jet offers is high-tech convenience — and speed. You can clip along at 4,000 feet at up to 345 mph. That's a good 75 mph quicker than even the fastest prop planes, like the Cessna TTx (Cirrus says it's actually 50 percent faster than the average private prop plane). So the Vision Jet can turn a typical 7-hour driving ordeal into a 1-hour hop.

Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideThe Cirrus jet seats up to five adults and two children, which is enough room for two families and their luggage. The plane has a range of around 1,200 miles before you have to land and refuel. To put that in perspective, you can't fly nonstop from New York to San Francisco but you can go directly from Los Angeles to Kansas City. (There's no room for a lavatory on board, so you'd probably want to make a pit stop, anyway.)

Enhanced Vision

Inside, the Vision Jet's cockpit is comprised of a suite of LCD displays called Garmin's Perspective Touch system, which includes what is known in aviation argot as a "synthetic-vision" system.

Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideNot only does it provide an animated artificial horizon to follow — which made it relatively easy for me to see whether I was keeping the jet level or not — but it also reveals major landmarks, moving icons that represent other planes and critical topographical features, like mountains. Better still, the synthetic vision means you can see these objects on the screen should you become disoriented on a cloudy, moonless night.

Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideThe system also includes advanced navigation that will plot a flight path and return you to the original route and altitude should you stray for a little sightseeing. The autopilot proved smooth (constantly adjusting the trim) yet responsive (such as rapidly returning the plane to the pre-set altitude).

Cirrus is  proudest of the plane's large windows, which give the tiny jet a more expansive, open feeling and makes much larger planes feel cramped by comparison.

In addition to these essential technologies, there are niceties such as Sirius XM radio (which plays through passengers' headphones), a satellite phone and USB-charging ports at each seat. For passengers, even though the jet engine is placed above and behind the cabin, the noise level while flying is less than what you'd experience in a helicopter but still more than what you'd hear on a large commercial flight. So headphones are required to muffle the din and allow everyone to talk to each other.

Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCirrus is proudest of the plane's large windows, aided and abetted by the jet's carbon-fiber construction. The slightly bug-eyed fenestration gives the tiny jet a more expansive, open feeling, and makes much larger planes with their diminutive portals feel cramped by comparison. I particularly appreciated the wider view as we tracked along the West Side of Manhattan's concrete canyons. And the improved visibility made it easier to spot nearby air traffic, of which there was plenty on a sunny afternoon over New York City.

A Joy(stick) to Fly

I got my chance to fly the plane for a few minutes in the much calmer skies above the beaches of Long Island. Despite my initial trepidation (I'm not a licensed pilot), I found controlling the Vision Jet was a remarkably easy task.

Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideThe side-mounted joystick provides enough resistance to let you know you've got a Williams International jet engine at your back but it's not overly sensitive, smoothly responding to any slight banking maneuvers. Garmin's synthetic-vision system can tend to make nervous neophytes like myself stare at the screens — am I still flying level?! — but experienced pilots will no doubt find it a helpful accouterment.

If you get nervous — or just lazy — and have trouble keeping the jet flying true, literally a push of a button kicks in the autopilot, which will straighten out the Vision Jet and take it to the altitude you preselected. Plot a route, and the system will follow that, too. It will do everything but land the plane, but even then, the automatic systems work overtime, tweaking the ailerons (hinged parts of the wings) to make sure your approach is smooth.

Whole-Plane Parachute

Anyone who feels less than confident relying on a single pilot (or single engine, for that matter), should be reassured by the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System.

Credit: John Quain/Tom's GuideCredit: John Quain/Tom's GuideThe whole-plane parachute is triggered by pulling a red handle in the ceiling of the cockpit (it has a cover to prevent inadvertent deployment). It takes a good solid pull to set off a small, solid-fuel rocket that releases the parachute from its hidden compartment.

Harness straps simultaneously emerge from the fuselage, and within seconds, according to the company, the parachute fully extends to gently bring the plane back to earth. The system includes a hidden roll cage and energy-absorbing seats, but to prevent any fatalities, ideally the airframe parachute should be deployed above 400 feet (higher is better).

The parachute can save pilot and passengers should there be an event such as icing, engine failure, loss of fuel or other emergency. If you want to see the system in action, you can watch a chute deployment on a prop Cirrus aircraft in a real-life emergency over the ocean.

Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) In Action

Bottom Line

For anyone who has endured the traveling torture that is commercial airflight today, the attraction of just hopping into your own plane is ineluctable. Furthermore, the Cirrus Vision Jet is a joy to fly and to ride in.

So while flying cars may forever be a George Jetson pipe dream, the personal jet is available today. Well, if you have $2 million --- and patience. Cirrus already has more than 600 customers lined up for the Vision Jet, so if you order it now, don't expect delivery for over three years.

This Flying Car From Italy In 1949 Killed Less People Than The Flying Pinto And Looked Cooler (Video)

This Flying Car From Italy In 1949 Killed Less People Than The Flying Pinto And Looked Cooler (Video)

People have been obsessed with the idea of a flying car for a long, long time. We found this old newsreel video that was shot in Italy (with English narration) back in the late 1940s and frankly we're kind of impressed with the whole rig. The claimed top speed of the car on land it 150mph while the claimed top speed in the air is 200mph with a single propellor pushing the whole thing along. We're not sure how people behind you on motorcycles, people on sidewalks, anyone with hearing, or animals would react to this vehicle in traffic but the idea is pretty cool. The car is shown running at a good clip down some streets around Rome and then the car is pulled onto an airfield, the wings are folded out and voila! It becomes a plane and flies off into the proverbial sunset.

Today there are companies investing LOTS of money into the development of a flying car that is actually feasible for daily use although we cannot figure out where they would be enough market for one of these contraptions to make the scads of money being spend on R&D worth it. The company that has gotten the furthest with its development is Terrafugia, which is actually located about an hour from our eastern world HQ so we should send an inquiry and perhaps check the place out. You can see their stuff here.

We're pretty sure that everyone knows the story of the flying Pinto which survived a couple of crash landings and then ultimately killed the designer in a third and final crash. We cannot find any more information on this craft than what you'll see in the video, which probably means that it didn't kill anyone for as long as it was operations. Yay for that! There are a million and one reasons why this "flying car" and all others to this point have not made it into any large scale production but that doesn't mean the efforts were all for naught. Someone built this thing from their own concept and proved it out, that's a win in anyone's book.

Curling With Flying Cars Is The New Best Thing In GTA Online

Shuffleboard and curling are way more exciting when you throw cars and ramps into the mix. GTA Online's new mode, Overtime Rumble, does exactly that—and the community loves it.

In Overtime Rumble, instead of sliding a smooth stone on ice, you speed off a ramp in a car. Then, while still in the air, you activate your car's parachutes and try to glide onto the board:

Each board in Overtime Rumble has sections that represent points, with bigger values printed on the smallest sections. So, the one point section is huge and easy to land on, while the five point section is really small and tough to nail consistently:

Everyone goes at once, so it's chaos. The time limit also adds some pressure, because if you wait for too long, your car will blow up. Landing in of itself doesn't make you any safer, because the other team can just knock you right off. By that same token, your team can help you out by ramming into you too. It's great when it works out: during one match, I had a friend bump me into a higher point area, all while scoring some points himself. Other times, though, friends can easily just push you into lower points—but at least you can laugh about it. Overtime Rumble is some of the most fun I've had in GTA Online in a long time.

Another great aspect of Overtime Rumble: once you land, your car is dead. You can only steer, not accelerate or brake. Stopping means coasting, hitting someone else's vehicle, or turning your tires to burn off speed. Depending on the playing field, these techniques can be tricky! One map, for example, has a large downhill area with scoring areas dotted along it, and the highest point area is at the bottom of a hill that's very easy to overshoot. My favorite method is to use a wall to help me slow down, all while wiggling my car back and forth. Watching people go really slow, while also trying to crash into each other is a unique sight in GTA Online.

The mode is so good that fans on the GTA Forums are raving about it:

I love just watching other people play, too. My favorite moments of Overtime Rumble are the super close victories where you are balancing precariously on the edge, hoping your car will stay balanced for just a few more seconds until the round is over.

Another memorable thing that can happen: slamming into someone and sending them flying. the community is sharing many awesome moments like these on Youtube.

Watch this otherwise pedestrian Subaru turn into a flying car

If Henry Ford wanted cars to fly, he would have built them with wings. Fortunately there's a deity out there who loves trolling Ford from beyond the grave, and that god gave the world tornados, which might be a tad more impressive than the assembly line.

Kevin Karas posted a video showing his Subaru Outback auditioning for some Harry Potter spinoff by temporarily letting go of the Earth and, to quote the Stephen Schwartz (may the Schwartz be with him), "defying gravity." Bet you never thought we'd shoehorn a nod to Spaceballs AND a Wicked reference into a story about tornados and Subarus.

Thankfully for everyone involved, no one was injured. But it does look like Karas's Outback took a nasty hit to the nose. Aside from that, no other significant property damage was reported, and not a single cow flew across frame.

Boom! We got Twister in there, too!

Straight Out of a Movie! Road Suddenly Ends Sending Car Flying Off-Road

When you're driving down an empty highway, half paying attention because of how straight and long the road is, you kind of expect the surface to keep on rolling. You don't really think that the road, obviously, is going to drop off and end right there. However, when this driver was just trudging along down the highway through the forest, it looks like the surface didn't hesitate to just drop off right in front of the car, ending this commute with a bang! That one really had to sneak up on the person behind the wheel of this car and surprise them big time!

Now, it isn't readily apparent if the person kind of lost focus on task at hand here or if the end of the road kind of just snuck up on the driver but one thing is for sure, the car looked like it was in the Dukes of Hazzard as it hit the end of the road, flipping into the air and coming down hard. The entire situation was captured on dash cam for all of us to see so that we can place our own analysis on the situation ourselves. This is one can of worms that most drivers would rather not open up while out there moving along at such a rate of speed.

Check out the video down below that shows off this hairy situation gone airborne and be sure to give us your take on how all of this ended up unfolding. I'm not sure how the driver behind the wheel of this car took the whole aftermath but personally, I would be pretty pissed off. I'm not sure if it would be aimed at whoever ended the road so abruptly without any signage or myself for not noticing it but this would most certainly be a cause for anger.

The Cars in Blade Runner 2049 Range From Weird To Awesome

by Kirby Garlitos , on July 22, 2017, 18:00

If you're like those people who have a soft spot in their hearts for the neo-noir classic Blade Runner, then you're probably counting down the days to October 7, 2017, when the long-awaited sequel – seriously, it's been 35 years! – of the cult movie hits cinemas. It's called Blade Runner 2049, and as you might expect, it takes place in the year 2049. I'm pretty sure that producers had to adjust the date for the movie considering the setting for the original Blade Runner movie took place in 2019. That'd be 18 months from now.

In any event, I'm not here to talk about the movie itself but the vehicles that are in the movie, or at least those that we spotted in the trailers. Since this is a movie set in the future, there's plenty of high-tech flying vehicles in it, not to mention some spiffy-looking rides that still feature some of today's styling cues. Who knew that scissor doors would still be in vogue 32 years from now, right? Better yet, it does look like the Lamborghini Aventador has aged well, hasn't it? It's apparently become so iconic that the cars of 2049 still use it as inspiration for their designs. There's plenty more where that came from, too, since the latest Blade Runner 2049 trailer doesn't seem to run out of "Jetsonian" rides.

Continue after the jump to read the full story.

Some of the rides in Blade Runner 2049

Since we're going to use the second trailer, might as well start with the first few seconds in it where we see Ryan Gosling's character, Officer K, inside what looks to be his Blade Runner patrol car. We only see shots of Gosling inside the car, but we do see a clearer picture of his ride-of-choice at the 51-second mark. First of all, long live the scissor door! Second of all, the side profile of that rear end has Lamborghini written all over it, which begs the question, "is that what Lamborghini is going to look like in 2049?" It's doubtful because the car actually has just three wheels. Unless Lamborghini somehow ends up changing its logo into a three-legged bull, I don't fancy that being something the Italian automaker would build three decades from now.

Now let's go back to the first parts of the trailer to the 15-second mark where Gosling's character is walking in what appears to be a deserted military base. Up on the far end of the shot is a vehicle that looks like some kind of six-wheeled, tube-like rover. That or it's probably a futuristic yet unpainted Weinermobile. Hard to say because it's a little too far for my eyes.

Skip forward to the 40-second mark and we get our first glimpse of a flying car! It's unclear as to what make and model that car is, but it's likewise reassuring the know that the cars of 2049 still make use of two headlights and the taillights at the back are still red in color. It's still, in the words of James May, a "proper" car, albeit one that actually flies. While I'm on the subject of flying cars, check out 1:02 part of the trailer. Do you see it? Yes, empty highways! Who knew the cure to the road cancer that's traffic would be to make cars fly. I'm pretty sure Leonardo da Vinci already thought of that 500 or so years ago.

At the 1:14 mark is another shot of a part of a car that appears to be in pretty bad shape. Could that be a 2025 Jeep that's living its dying days in a junk yard? There's a shot of its headlights in the 1:16 mark and I'm more convinced than ever that it's a Jeep. Round headlights, folks!

The next car we see is in the 1:40-minute mark of the trailer where Gosling's three-wheeled, Lambo-inspired patrol car gets smashed to bits by a flying car that I assume is the Cadillac of the future. Who knows, maybe Studebaker somehow returns in the 2030s and has transformed itself into the go-to flying car of choice among the baddies of that era. Hard to tell from the shot, but I'm not opposed to seeing Studebaker come back from the dead.

The 1:44 and 2:08 marks of the trailer shows more flyings cars of unknown origin. Special shout out though to the massive Atari sign in the 2:08 clip. It's back, ladies and gentlemen!

As we draw closer to the end of the trailer, we see what presumably would be what traffic would look like in 2049 as three flying cars with zip through the air in an orderly fashion. This happens at 2:12 minutes in, too, just a few seconds before we're treated to a rather spacious interior of a car we end up seeing from the outside at 2:19. I'm not quite sure what that car is, but that cabin looks especially comfortable and the all-glass roof adds a nice charm to it. Then again, it looks like a pretty important car since Harrison Ford's character, Rick Deckard (the OG Blade Runner), is in it.

So there you have it. Excited for Blade Runner 2049 yet?

Tornado Turns SUV Into a Flying Car, However Briefly

GIF

Here at Paleofuture, we've been waiting for our flying cars for over a decade. (Seriously, I can't believe I started this blog back in 2007.) But this isn't exactly the kind of flying car we had in mind.

Facebook user Kevin Karas posted a security cam video of his front yard from July 20, 2017 which appears to show his SUV getting temporarily lifted by a tornado. It's not exactly the technology out of Blade Runner, but I guess it's the best we can do for now.

"We seen the funnel coming. We seen the garbage cans going up about 20 feet," Kevin Karas told the ABC affiliate in Rochester, New York. "We were scared, the little baby was scared, so we just ran downstairs."

There were two tornadoes that touched down in the area but thankfully Karas and his family didn't suffer any serious damage to their property. There were also no reports of injuries.

Yes, my Google Alert for "flying car" has plenty of the Jetsonian wishes that we typically associate with dreams of the retro-future. There's Terrafugia and Moller and Uber and plenty of others trying to make them a reality. But you'd be surprised how often my Google Alert simply snags stuff like this. Or maybe you wouldn't be. We're still waiting on the real thing. And I have a hunch we're going to be waiting quite a bit longer until they're for real.

We might be waiting for another decade, or even longer. But we'll be here whenever it's ready. I know I'm not the only one who feels like he's been waiting forever.

‘Blade Runner 2049’: At Comic-Con, You Can Drive a Flying Car As the Movie Comes to Life

Want to know what it's like to drive a flying car through Los Angeles in pursuit of a replicant? That's what awaits you at the "Blade Runner 2049" experience across the street from San Diego Comic-Con, with some fun twists.

VR, AKA 360 video, is the latest craze to sweep Comic-Con, but "Blade Runner 2049" aims to innovate by integrating a deeper sense of realness into it.

After entering the massive tent on 2nd Avenue and walking down a corridor lined with concept art, you're brought to a set-up featuring approximately two dozen seats, arranged like a movie theater — except instead of a screen, participants are outfitted with individual VR headsets.

Once the VR experience begins, the viewer finds themselves in the driver's seat of a 2049 police car, in pursuit of a "skin job" who's trying to flee in a stolen vehicle. Because it's the year 2049, these are flying cars — the trip doesn't get roller coaster intense, but you do get to experience the actual sensation of flight, thanks to the motion-controlled seats which turn and pivot in sync with the action.

The visuals echo that which we've seen in many trailers, with the same representation of brands as seen in the original film: Coca-Cola, Atari, and a lot of Johnnie Walker (a name sponsor presenting the experience), and there's even a bit of interactivity as you use "a scanner" to check other cars in search of your target. It's a well-conceived, at times exciting adventure.

Many VR experiences like this eventually get more widely seen, as 360 video continues to evolve and new distribution options become available. But this one has a twist.

Your replicant pursuit ends with you landing on the street to continue pursuing your suspect, and that's where the experience turns up a notch. Removing the headset, you discover that the wall in front of you has vanished — now, you're looking at the same streetscape the VR experience ended at, except recreated in the real world. Citizens of the year 2049 are mingling around the cop car you just landed, and cops are asking you questions about where you might have seen the "skinner" run.

Blade Runner 2049

There's plenty of interaction with those wearing "period appropriate" costumes, as we experienced during last night's press event — an experience one Alcon Entertianment executive we spoke with compared to immersive theater experiences like New York's "Sleep No More" and London's "Secret Cinema."

In addition, you have the opportunity to wander the 2049 Los Angeles marketplace, which includes vending machines dispensing T-shirts, a station to verify your human status, and an assortment of props from both the original "Blade Runner" and the upcoming film.

In short, the experience is the very definition of "immersive," one that proves what's possible when you combine cutting edge technology with good old-fashioned theatrical imagination, and one that raises our standards for such experiences.

The "Blade Runner 2049" Experience can be found at 450 2nd Avenue in downtown San Diego. San Diego Comic-Con 2017 runs Wed.-Sun., July 19-23, at the San Diego Convention Center.

It's Time to Pre-Order Your First Flying Car, Even If Elon Musk Said You Shouldn't

This may be the decade of the biggest evolution in the automobile industry. Starting with full-size, full-range electric cars, and then self-driving cars by Tesla, Google, and soon Apple. And it's not over, yet. As of now, you can pre-order your first flying car...

This time, the first player is not even from the US. AeroMobil, a Bratislava, Slovakia company will likely be the first in the world to sell a flying car. The price tag? $1.3 to $1.7 million. Each. A little more than a Tesla... In fact, it's a lot more than a general aviation airplane.

And speaking of Tesla, Elon Musk was quoted saying that he didn't believe there if a future for flying cars. No doubt that there are challenges ahead, but a decade ago very few would have believed that we will be driving full size, pure-electric cars with a range comparable to gasoline cars, let alone that we will be passengers in self-driving cars. Yet, we are. To be fair, Musk's objection is to flying in locations such as downtown Manhattan, with high building and traffic density. However, rural flying is much more likely first use of the flying car.

Juraj Vaculik, co-founder and CEO of AeroMobil said in a company press release at the Top Marques Monaco, the world's most exclusive supercar show: "Today is a transformative day for the future of travel as the launch of the AeroMobil means and that everyday flying transportation will soon be a reality," .

AeroMobil was established in 2010, with the vision of building a flying car. In 2014, they completed building the third version, and the version that is now offered for pre-order is the fourth. Version 3 took its test flight in 2015 (see the video below).

The specifications include:

  • 2.0 liter turbo charged 4-cylinder boxer engine
  • 110 driving horsepower, and 300 flying horsepower
  • Range: 434 miles driving, or 466 miles flying
  • Max speed: 100 mph driving, 224 mph flying
  • Maximum takeoff weight (including the car, passengers, and fuel): 600 lb.
  • The flying car is full of safety features, such as an airframe parachute system, airbags, pyrotechnic load limiting seat belts, integral carbon fiber structure, and autonomous flight.

The company will build a limited first production run of 500 flying cars.

Last week, AeroMobil announced that InfraPartners Management (IPM), an Asian investment firm, had made an investment of an undisclosed amount in the company, to help enter the Asian market.

Once again, you see how innovation is inspired by science fiction.

    I haven't placed my pre-order yet...
